about

Marina Masatovic – born in the Netherlands (living in The Hague), with roots tracing back to the beautiful Croatia.

My artistic journey is guided by a quiet inner force that shapes every creation. Each piece invites you to look beyond the surface and sense its subtle essence. Years of exploration have led me to a style where visual language meets emotion, and edible art becomes a silent poem you can taste.

It began with a love for nature and a deep longing to create. During my years as a notary clerk, I felt a growing need to follow a more intuitive path. Guided by curiosity and the desire to make emotion tangible, I began experimenting and teaching myself along the way. Over time, patisserie became my language – a way to give form to my inner world.

inspiration
each creation begins with a moment of pure inspiration. I am drawn to beauty in architecture, fine art, fragrance, or feelings that cannot be put into words. Flowers hold a gentle magnetism for me;  a sensitivity my mother taught me to see. Nature became my constant muse. Through my work, I try to capture this essence into edible sculptures that leave a lasting sensory impression.

the sensory language
scent, flavour, and colour are woven into my creative process. My sensitive sense of smell reveals nuances that often go unnoticed, subtle threads guiding each creation. Flavours are balanced with intention, often enriched with teas, herbs, or flowers for added depth. Colour forms another layer; soft palettes carry my personal signature. In this dialogue of the senses, a creation becomes more than edible — it becomes a lingering experience.

the essence
every piece holds a moment of connection, a small poetic encounter. I search for the instant where beauty becomes tangible, especially in the fleeting. Simplicity is my foundation – a conscious choice to remove everything unnecessary until only the essence remains. True beauty speaks softly, born from purity, care, and emotion. When the unnecessary falls away, something begins to speak without words.

a dance with light
photography became a natural extension of my work – a way to hold ephemeral moments and translate them into visual stories. My love for classical ballet, where my artistic journey began, taught me that even the smallest movement can hold deep emotion – a philosophy that continues to guide my creative approach.
